The AMH level, or AMH blood test, is one of the leading ovarian reserve tests used to evaluate ovarian capacity. Based on the AMH value, it is possible to gain an idea about a woman’s potential to conceive; however, it is not possible to definitively say that pregnancy will not occur.

Generally, women with an AMH value below 0.5 are advised not to delay pregnancy and to proceed with treatments. However, the ultrasonographic evaluation of the ovaries and the assessment of follicle counts are also crucial. When determining the ovarian reserve, information regarding the potential to become pregnant should be provided by considering both the ultrasonographic ovarian assessment and the AMH levels together.
