Laparoscopy is an endoscopic method used to evaluate the abdominal cavity using a thin camera inserted through the navel. Laparoscopy is invaluable in the diagnosis and treatment of uterine anomalies, ovarian cysts, tubal pathologies, and the management of endometriosis. In particular, a large portion of infertility-related problems can be treated endoscopically through laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, which may subsequently allow for spontaneous pregnancies. Beyond infertility treatments, surgeries such as hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) and myomectomy (removal of fibroids) can also be performed via laparoscopy. The duration of hospitalization after laparoscopy is short, making it possible to discharge the patient on the same day or the following day.
