Thrombophilia is a coagulation system problem that can cause recurrent miscarriages or failure of implantation in IVF treatments. The presence of this problem is generally investigated through certain blood tests.

It is investigated in women who have had two or more miscarriages before, or in women who have had two unsuccessful IVF treatments despite the transfer of high-quality embryos. Although diagnosis is not always easy, certain blood-thinning injections and pills can be used in these cases. Their benefit is controversial.

Women diagnosed with this problem can become pregnant, but since miscarriage, growth retardation, and placental problems can be observed in their pregnancies, they should be closely monitored and their medical treatments should be regulated.
