There are different alternatives in infertility treatments. The treatment method is chosen according to the infertility problem, the age of the woman, the duration of marriage, and sperm parameters. Among the alternatives, ovulation tracking, vaccination (IUI), and in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment are included respectively.
In a couple who comes to have children as soon as possible and in whom no problem is detected, 3-6 months of ovulation tracking followed by 2-3 vaccinations can be performed, and if no result is obtained, IVF treatment can be started. However, in a couple where a problem is detected in the tubes or a serious problem is detected in the sperm, IVF treatment should be started directly.
The physician and the couple should decide on the order of the treatment method together; the physician’s task is to determine the treatment alternatives according to the couple’s situation and explain them to the couple.
